Support Engineer II
isoutsource.com, a market leading, fast-paced and growing IT consulting and services firm, is looking for an experienced Support Engineer, Level II technician, for our growing customer base. You will work in its main office located in Seattle (lower Queen Anne Hill) providing remote support for a variety of client systems.
The right candidate will join our growing team of talented technical personnel at one of the few Microsoft Gold Partners in the SMB networking space, and build their technical skills and a career path within our organization to IT Consultant and beyond.
The Support Engineer II role involves carrying out the following key duties:
- Provide in house technical support
- Provide first and second line technical support to include customer desktops, servers and network
- Talk customers through escalated problems maintaining calm and poise despite the potential client frustration with some issues
- Solve a wide variety of issues
- Carry out day to day network administration tasks
- Perform routine server maintenance tasks
- Manage our network monitoring system
- Work in an energized team and fun office environment
- A variety of technologies available
- Partner with Support colleagues skilled in a variety of technical arenas
- Help enhance skills of Support Engineer 1 colleagues
- Partner with a great group of field consultants
- Familiarity with billing for time business model
- No travel required

- Basic Networking, SQL administration, and IP sub-net and routing

- We provide and support in-house back-up/recovery, server/desktop monitoring, and security solutions
- We support unique client applications - I.E. CRM, Finance, etc.
- Understanding of how common desktop applications interact including macros, security, and add-ins.
- Familiarity with I.S.P. operation
- How DNS relates to external settings, PTR records, reverse look-ups.
Candidates should have experience with some or all of the following technologies:
- Windows 2000/XP/Vista - Office 2000-2007 - Windows Server 2000/2003
- Exchange 2000/2003/2007
- Active Directory
- Understand the relationship between Exchange and A.D.
- DHCP -DNS
- SQL 2000/2005
- Backup Solutions
- Veritas - Back-up Exec. - Capable of troubleshooting high level problems
- Anti Virus Solutions
- Routers/Firewalls
- Flexibility (some shift work may be required)
Experience & credentials required:
- 3+ Years of technical support experience in an I.T. shop or Customer Support Desk
- Current MCP and MCSA or equivalent on-the-job or technical school training experience.
